Kevin Williamson and Julie Pec are the developers of the supernatural teen drama. Elena Gilbert is a teenage girl who has just lost both parents in a car accident. She falls in love with Stefan Salvatore a 162 year old vampire.
Nina Dobrev plays Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore is played by Paul Wesley. Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore, Stefan’s malevolent vampire brother.
