Damon Salvatore, one of the two main protagonists of The Vampire Diaries, is portrayed by Ian Somerhalder. He and his brother Stefan Salvatore grow up in the town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. Growing up, Damon had a knack for troubles, unlike his brother who was comparatively a very silent child. Damon is a handsome and charming vampire and is over 150 years old. He has always been a fan favorite and a well-rounded character.
